Gender Equality and the Baltic Sea

We are glad to welcome you to the online-course «Gender Equality and the Baltic Sea»!

The course is useful for environmental activists, NGO workers and all who are willing to use gender optics in their environmental projects.
The course consists of 4 online-lessons
Each lesson contains a short video, list of useful resources and an interactive test for self-check. We recommend beginning the course with the first lesson, but you can also go through it in your own style.
Lesson 1. Connection between Environment and Gender Equality
In the first lesson you will explore how the topic of gender equality is connected to environmental protection and why there is so much attention dedicated to gender in international environmental policies nowadays.
Lesson 2. Gender Mainstreaming: Practical Tools
The second one is focused on gender mainstreaming as a strategy and the specific tools that help implement gender equality in project programs and policies.
Lesson 3. Gender Equality in Water-Related Issues
The third unit will describe how gender equality is connected with specific environmental topics of the Baltic Sea such as hazardous substances, littering, biodiversity and maritime.
Lesson 4. Gender Mainstreaming in Project Cycle
In the final session, we will discuss how to implement gender equality principles and issues into the project cycle at every stage of the project -- formulation, implementation and evaluation.
